Tyler has lived in Portland for more than a decade now. He moved here in his mid-20s from Port Neches, Texas, a town of about 14,000 people near Houston and across the border with Louisiana. Coming from a small town, Portland has everything he’s wanted to experience – from days spent with interesting friends at cool spaces, to amazing outdoor views and activities, to great people. Tyler is excited to take his love of this beautiful city and work with people who want to plant their roots here!
His ideal adventure for an urban Portland day: A perfect Portland day must include these activities: taking his dog, Ollie, for a breakfast walk to one of Portland’s best pastry shops, Twisted Croissant; wandering the rows of flowers at Peninsula Park Rose Garden with a friend; a Pedalpalooza bike ride that ends in a raucous dance afterparty; and a late-night stop at his favorite ice cream shop, Nico’s, for their iconic soft-serve strawberry with the graham cracker dust.
His superpower: His best friend, Julie, would say that Tyler’s superpower is the ability to remain positive, helpful and graceful through any situation, small (bad hair day) or big (Category 5 hurricanes). Tyler would say that he makes some pretty good malted chocolate chip brownies.
Superpower ge wishes he had: If he had the ability to do anything, it would be fly… but only because he can’t stand highway traffic!
Favorite moment/s in real estate: Attending open houses and working through the homebuying process with his fiancé gave him a brief peek into what goes into the world of real estate. Buying or selling a home is not just about financials and paperwork, inspections and deeds; helping a person find their home, especially if they’ve never really had one, is an incredible moment to take part in. That’s his favorite.
Favorite Portland neighborhood, and why? His neighborhood, Alberta Arts! Why? In addition to living in a cool duplex with his fiancé and their dear friend, Meagan, Tyler has the fortune of living only blocks away from so many of the amazing people who have become my community here in Portland. They’re walking distance from the hustle and bustle of Alberta Street, which he loves. Last Thursdays on Alberta, a community-grown event that is free for all artists, art vendors, performers and visitors, is a monthly favorite.
